The large Chevy dealerships that will sell Volts will have someone trained on Volts. But what about people who live in remote places, don’t want to go to a dealership, or want custom work. Who will have the knowledge and skills for custom service of Volts? It will require a new skill set. For example, his expertise must have solutions to the following issues:

I can’t get more than 20 mile on a charge.
I hear a strange whine from the motor when I decelerate.
My car shakes when I accelerate.
The battery blows when I go down mountains.
This is this third set of batteries you’ve installed. What’s wrong with you?
My car shuts down on hot days.
My car stalls when I go past a radio station tower.
This is the second Traction Converter I’ve replaced in 20,000 miles.
I hear a strange sound from my radio when I decelerate.
My circuit breaker trips when I’m charging my car and take long showers.
My SOC never gets above 80%.
My Ultra Capacitor can’t keep its charge on humid days.
Where can I get the latest “hot” chip for my vehicle? Will you install it?
My dog barks and whines when I start my EV.
My kid put the induction charger ring around a wrench, melted the wrench, and blew the charger.
My neighbors house lights dim when I charge my vehicle.
A squirrel got under my hood and blew my battery.
When I drive the back roads around wooded area, deer stop in the middle of the road and just look at me. What can I do?
The parents of the blind child down the street are getting a petition against my driving the EV.
Can I get speakers mounted and play recordings of big ICEs.

Got any others for this new world list?

My gas indicator shows empty but my car is still running, why?

I think my brake pads need to be changed. I haven't changed them for years and with my old car I already changed them twice!

I see this is a real business opportunity for a properly trained mechanic.

Why can't I have a normal tire-jack to change the flat tire?
It does not need oil change yet?
Why it does not have gear 1 and 2, but just "D"?
My dog ate the plug-in cable, can I just buy a cheap AC cord then buy from the GM dealer?
I hit a deep water puddle on the road and my car would not run any more.

I hate those 15" wheels. Will 27" low profiles fit?

This speaker would be good for taming an overly bright amp or for use in tandem with other brighter speakers or maybe by itself for jazz. However, if you are looking for a full-range single 10 inch speaker for a combo this one does not have enough high end IMO.

I find the 10" Eminence a little "punchy" for my tastes, especially for blues and some jazz...
Errrr...what forum am I posting on again??

For the initial few years, there will be no impact on the mechanics. Twenty years after introduction, the neighborhood garage will go the way of the neighborhood stable and blacksmith shop. Ultra high reliability, and very little maintenance requirements will kill them.
