Hi Guys,

Just got a call from a GM advisor— my Volt order has been accepted for production; she also said my vehicle will be one of the first 50 Volts produced! No specific arrival date could be offered, but she said they were aiming for late November/December. I'm excited but wondering— anyone else received similar news?

Congrats! I placed my order back in July (order officially recorded as 8/9 on the tracking site), am #6 from an initial market with a dealer that had 32 allocations for the year, but the car is still in phase 1100. Did you order the AFF package? I did an am thinking this may be the cause of the delay.

I originally had AFI selected (dark leather/dark accents), but when informed it would delay order, changed to AFF (neutral leather/dark accents).

Congratulations. Your Volt will be produced the first day of production since they build 50 per day. Delivery date sounds about right.

That answers any questions about the dark center stack. No hold ups except when paired with Black Leather.

Don't forget to ask them about the 240 volt charging station. Supposedly your advisor will help you get that ball rolling.

Correction to my post above... I ordered the AFI package, NOT the AFF one. So that's probably the reason for my delay (based on VoltGuy's comment and others).

faz, at your #6 position out of 32, you shouldn't expect to get one of the earliest Volts, although you might squeeze into the first month. (And note that you can edit and correct your earlier post.)

I'm #1 at my dealer, but still stuck at status code 1100. Grrrr.

FYI, when the November 11th "Job 1" date was reported ( http://gm-volt.com/2010/09/01/report-chevrolet-volt-production-to-begin-on-november-11th/ ) I assumed that "begin production" meant that's when the first vehicle would START on the assembly line. I now see that it's actually when it ROLLS OFF the line. The difference is significant because, as we've been told, the total assembly time is a week, including the multiple paint layers.

Gimme gimme gimme!

I have AFI, still at 1100. Frustrated. Dealer says my AFI (black/black) won't affect delivery. I would change to white console if it did, so if I'm not getting a straight answer, I will not be pleased. Still waiting to hear from a Volt advisor. :-/

ClarkesonCote please refer to this from Lyle; http://gm-volt.com/2010/09/09/volt-interior-theme-delay-details/

If John Hughes http://media.gm.com/product/public/us/en/volt/people/bios/hughes.html says there is going to be a delay then there is going to be a delay.

Also confirmed here by Angie. 3 week delay, not a big deal. Unless you're first in line at your dealer and expecting your car to come out early. The marketing people have been quite clear about this IMO.

I received two messages last thursday and friday from my Volt Advisor. Called her back yesterday [monday] and she gave me info [most of which I already knew] about the car. She said the 240 charging station program details are not yet finalized, but she did ask if I was interested in it, which I am. She expected more details about the home charger program to be available in the next couple weeks.

I'm still sitting at 1100 as well. My order went in August 31st. I have the neutral seats and dark accents package, and am #2 in the allocation of 8 my dealer has. They told me as far as I know I should be getting my car in december.
