It seems that that the demand for the iMIEV exceeds all the previsions :

I drove an iMIEV for a short time last January, I didn't wanted to leave it. :(

JC, any news from France?.. are the plans for vast BEV recharge networks still in place?.
I think there will be a LOT of nuclear powered cars in France soon.

Hi Hermperez,
No real news from France except that there are about 250 days left before the Citroen C0 (akea the Misu iMIEV) will be sold.
From Europe in general, there great hopes to have a new plan on a common European policy about the electrification of automobile.
I'll give more news once a get the draft of the plan, a friend of mine close to the Council of ministers promised me to send it soon.
Kindest regards,

I know I will get bombed for this statement but: I think the US needs to start (or should I say "keep moving") on the nuclear option. I know there are lots of arguments against it but at least it does keep our air clean. When we are choking on our own fumes we will have no option.
Thanks for the post JC.

This is the kind of stuff that's really exciting. If you are in position geographically/financially to buy a Volt or Leaf this year, get your wallet ready, but whether you are or not, sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and see what happens when these cars hit showrooms. Will demand fizzle? Will people be banging Chevy and Nissan dealer doors down to put their personal fossil fuel dependency behind them? Will gas prices spike this time next year and riots ensue due to short supply? Will the Leaf sell in high numbers because it appeals to the more orthodox zero emissions customers, or will it fall flat on its face as everyone wants a Volt? Maybe the Leaf will have an embarrassingly large amount of people get stuck after forgetting to plug in, or for using the heater too much and EVs get a tarnished reputation for decades. Maybe Nissan becomes the world wide leader in EVs as they are vying for. Maybe another auto maker like Ford comes out of pretty much nowhere and becomes what iPods are to mp3 players in the electric car arena.
Maybe all of the predictions by Bob Lutz that GM is banking on about a small but good enough size customer pool until costs come down are fairly accurate.
Who knows but we get to be here front and center as it happens before our eyes and its coming this year.
