Great article. What kind of propulsion systems do the french compressed air cars use?
So are you saying this would run as a generator to generate electricity? Could it produce 53kW like the Volt's generator? What kind of range could it offer in a tank the size of the Volt's gas tank?
Indeed there are a lot of delivery companies and what not that could use this system. Maybe even some taxis could use this since they are making lots of small trips, I don't know about the major cities like New York, but smaller city taxi companies definitely could.

MDI and others use piston air engines with a mechanical transmission to drive the wheels.
Yes, I expect an upsized air motor to drive a generator to keep a converted Volt running.
