There is some comment from CT&T's president on BYD's battery. CT&T tried to buy batteries from BYD and made inquiries about it, but BYD refused to disclose specification of its battery so he gave up. He also says buyers need to be cautious on BYD's battery because of unproven safety.

Based on CT&T president's comment, I don't think BYD's battery is ready.

There are also additional comments from Detroit Auto Show's floor on BYD E6's market readiness, which is mostly negative.

BYD F6DM will follow E6 to the US next year for a price of $30,000.

F6DM is a PHEV with 20 kwh battery.

I think this price is way to close to the Volt and given the choice, Americans will choose it over a Chinese vehicle with lackluster styling, poor fit/finish and dubious reliability.

They need to be much cheaper.

at $10k below a Volt it will sell like hot cakes, dont forget the $7500 tax credit.. the DM MAY get a better mileage in the CS mode than a Volt.

No comment on quality or reliability.
