I think range is important, and it seems to be the point they set out to prove. My cynical side says I can go 1000 miles in my GM pickup with enough Wal-Mart gas cans in the back ;)

Toyota's HFCV technology appears to work but there are few hydrogen refueling locations available. :o

how much platinum does it need?

Everybody keeps working and spending lots of money on Hydrogen Fuel Cells, but they are so far in the future. Why don't they just focus all this money on batteries or something more here and now? Unless of course, fuel cells are perhaps getting closer to reality than we think. Still doesn't address the infrastructure problem that well though.
