Daewoo has outsourced the development of Matiz EV(aka Chevrolet Spark outside of Korea) to Leo Motors, the same EV conversion kit company that is currently selling a Kia Morning EV kit(Matiz's competitor). Both Volt and Matiz EV will be offered in Korea starting in 2011.

Matiz EV powertrain is said to be similar to Kia Morning EV's.

Preeliminary spec

- 100 mile range

Since GM plans to sell Spark in the US, there is a very good chance that Matiz EV could make it to the US as Chevrolet Spark EV.

"Spark": the name is catchy, perhaps not in a good way. Imagine the Audi "Flambe", or the BMW "Torch", just doesn't seem right. Then again, there was the Chevy Blazer.

i did not know that daewoo matiz is the other called for chevrolet sparks. just when i read this thread that's the time i realized that they are both same car maker. so this means that some daewoo parts (http://www.racepages.com/oem/daewoo.html) are or can be fitted with chevrolet.
