Do not miss out that price is a driver. I will not be purchasing a $30,000 car. I will purchase a $20,000 car.
This car needs to be urban friendly. This includes: Size, easy to park, Electric running in urban areas, Minimum configuration of 2 door and a hatchback, seating for 3 - 4.
The Volt is already too big and expensive. I am gearing up to walk, bike and bus.

I expect that the flexdrive configs will become that cheap in a few years, but early adopters will buy the vehicles now, understanding they will save money on fuel in the long run.

I remember when MY dad said he couldn't understand why anyone would pay more then 10 thousand dollars for a HOUSE. He paid 6500 for ours. I know, I know, I'm old. But I was born at a very early age....

My point was just that prices go up and things that seemed expensive don't seem that way any more. When I look at the volt's style and stats (acceleration etc) I see a $25-30K automobile. It's a fast little roadster. Paying an extra $5 for the plug in doesn't seem like a big step up in price.

I totally agree with you. My point was just that I'm old.
