Like most hot new products, where supply is going to be insufficient to meet demand, it should go without saying that we can expect a number Volts are going to end up on EBay. In light of this, I think that GM should sell the first batch (10, 100?) by auction themselves. Let them reap the benefit and get the publicity. Maybe even use some proceeds for charity.

I will predict that the first one will sell for more than $200,000.

On second thought, use any extra proceeds to purchase carbon credits. Making the VOLT community a negative Carbon one.

Why not take the rights to purchase the first Volt and auction that off at Barrett Jackson? It could become a serious collector piece and could bring in serious money. Also, instead of GM trying to pocket the money from this sale it might be a good idea to donate it (which is typically done) to a charity or some sort of "green" organization or research group. All-in-all this vehicle is supposed to help save the environment and such so donating the money to such a cause could be a good idea???

Heck if it sells for $200,000 use that to subsidize the sale of the volt and sell them for $25,000. :p

I also agree in principle that the initial run of 10,000 cars seems low.
