Yep, I had driven a Malibu right after Easter, and was somewhat distracted, as we (my wife and I) walked away from the deal...but this past Saturday, we came back with a different outlook (Gas hit $3.49 a gallon!!!!!!!), and purchased the same Malibu that we test drove the weekend after Easter...a Golden Pewter Malibu LT, with the VVT Ecotec 2.4L engine. We are in love with "The BU"!!!

Let's put it this way...if the Malibu is any indication of the type of vehicle that GM is capable of consistently producing, then we are in for a treat with the Chevy Volt!!!

I bought my wife the 2008 "BU", She says that when the Volt becomes available in 2011 (or when ever it arrives in my state), she will but one for me!!

Now that's True Love...for both women and for cars...

Was not available at the lot we were shopping at...plus it is currently out of our price range.

According to early reports the Malibu hybrid should offer about a 2 mpg improvement in fuel economy compared to the conventional Malibu, or about 24/32 mpg city/highway.

Seriously? A 2mpg improvement? Why bother?!?!

It is a small price increase to gain 6% - 7% fuel saving, so it is a wash against the standard model, but being a wash, may make it worth it to those who want to do all they can.

thought GM claimed it was a 15% increase and mileage rating backed that up, sounds like another one of those best case to real world comparisons that so often happens when people are overeager to prove their opinion
