Interesting, Hitachi named GM as the automaker it hoped to sell batteries to starting next year.

Is this just a wishful thinking by Hitachi or do they have something going? We know it's not Volt or any or Voltec vehicles(These are only compatible with LG batteries and LG has the exclusivity clause), but conventional hybrids purhaps???

Amazing! A Japanese battery company thinks they are competitive!

Don't they read your posts, HyperMiler?

Now, why would LG want an exclusivity clause? If they have the best battery tech... they shouldn't need such a thing. Unless, of course, they fear some other forces in the marketplace?

@HyperMiler:
HVE was selected at supplier for Saturn hybrid. Seems they hope the technology will be transferred to other GM platform...
