This is an extremely sensible use of pure EV's. Lower maintenance costs, low energy costs in an application with fixed range stop-and-go driving and centralized charging infrastructure for overnight charging. No need for "swaps" and less of a range anxiety issue.

DoD is very interested in a vehicle like this for on base logistic deliveries. The speed limit on most military bases is 35 MPH or less. An EV like this Ford and Smith Electric Vehicle , vice a 3/4 ton truck/van with a V8, is a perfect fit also.

Yes, small local delivery vehicles have been an excellent potential application for BEV's for some time. Good to see Ford/Smith team up to address this market.
