I think it is a waste of time for "me-too" companies to develop BEV's to rival Tesla, as that niche will be saturated. E-REV's are the smarter near-term play.

As for Tesla, Dowle has high expectations given the right technologies and enough development time.

"Tesla is a good benchmark, but the technology is moving fast. Our car will be more advanced than the Tesla," he explained.

Fine tuning of prototypes still has yet to be completed, but when it does, expect production to begin sometime in late 2011 or early 2012.

So, the technology is moving fast, but they need time to find the technology and move past Tesla?? I guess they figure that Tesla won't do any improvements to their car in the next 2-3 years while they attempt to move from sketch pad to prototype. Whatever. The rich people of the world should be thrilled with all the options they will eventually have be chic and green at the same time in the future.:rolleyes:
