I'd like to direct folks to this more positive "take" on GM's and it's embattled chief's recent history:

Amazingly, it pushes the viewpoint that everything that's been done over there lately has not been shortsighted or stupid, a nice antidote to the almost reflexive GM bashing that goes on in the media and on the blogs.

jonbo,

Thanks for posting this. I meant to do it yesterday, but lost track of what I was doing.

Yes, Wagoner has done remarkably well, considering how the unions and dealerships kneecap the automakers. It will be interesting to see if the UAW gives any concessions at all, as they now think they have an ace in the hole with Obama as president-elect.

Oh well, it all had to collapse eventually. I just hoped that the UAW and dealerships would have come to the bargaining table by now, but it appears that they won't.
