I told you guys at Ford 4 months ago to get in gear for a huge sales slump because of rising fuel prices, Yet still no announcement of any BEV car or pickup like GM is doing.
So by summer when gas is 4 bucks a gallon you wont sell anything with a gas engine. So switch over now, don't wait till the last frigging minute Make a BEV ranger again like you did from 1998 - 2001
and give us Americans some damn hope here. Ive already lost 30k on my Ford stock, whats next will I lose it all?

Gas is going to $4.00+ a gallon this summer, so are you guys gonna call back all of your unsold gas hog F150's and refit them to make them a hybrid and sell them as 2009 models. Do it right the first time or lose more billions of dollars. Geez guys come on, you know hybrids will sell faster than you can make them in the worlds best pickup F150. So make the right choice now and not have any regrets later!

Don't lose hope. If you read my other posts about Ford and the new CEO I think you will agree that Ford fits the duck analogy. Looks peaceful and calm on the surface but is paddling like crazy under the surface. I'm guessing Ford will shock the automotive world. Remember, Ford doesn't have the EV PR problem that GM has. They can sit back, talk about their cute and regular hybrid test cars and most people are happy. Expect a huge announcement before the first plug-ins start arriving on showroom floors. If Ford is not doing as I predict it would be plain business suicide. They are not so stupid and Alan Mulally is certainly no fool (read genius).

I agree with Texas. The other companies see the buzz that is being generated by the Volt. So you can bet that they have projects going, but they do not have to take the press on tours.....

2010, 2011, & 2012 are going to be very interesting years for new car releases!!!

Ford is rapidly selling off assets - Land Rover, Jaguar and a hydro-electric powerplant. I am assuming that they are raising capital to invest in retooling their product lines to meet the 2007 CAFE standards.

Honestly, I think Ford isn't ready to introduce any vehicles, because they were banking too much on ethanol. They are probably going to use their cash to buy time that they lost by acquiring an EV start-up (I would howl if they buy back Th!nk), who are ready to produce EV's between now and 2010. They may be trying to quickly move their Volvo in-hub motor vehicle to market sooner.

I am just glad to see our automakers make real decisions and real moves to better position themselves in these tough times.
