I hope they didn't just throw this design together because this car would make a fantastic EV! I want one.

Boy, who cares. I keep seeing criticism of the Lotus body EV that Chrysler displayed the other day. I want these on the road, even if they are "conversions." So give me an old body--at least it isn't an egg (aka NEV) on four wheels which is all we've been able to purchase.
Sooner or later quality will really matter; but 500 cars that are leased? slap these things together and you'll see a demand like gas is selling at $6.

If BMW wants to speed things up, they can build the 500 cars but skip the step where they are delivered to customers, and proceed directly to the crushing phase of the program.
