I think it would be awesome if GM made the Volt look like this car .... the 2008 Holden Coupe 60 Concept:

I think this Holden Coupe car design will be a smash hit! No doubt about it. I like the front grill, side and the rear end design ... everything. Whoever designed this car should be promoted. This is one of the coolest car designs I've seen in a long time.

Holden is a GM subsidiary from Australia you know, so maybe they can use the basic Holden Coupe 60 design and somehow still make it look cool with 4 doors on it for the Volt.

Maybe in 2012 or something, GM could just add the E-flex propulsion system to this exact Holden Coupe 60 design and sell it as a high-tech luxury hybrid sports coupe with 250+ horsepower or something. Maybe when I get a few promotions and save up some moulah I can actually get me one. :)

Do this car design GM! Build this car! It's a winner! :D

That is a nice looking car. Very conventional looking. Not sexy, like a Fisker design, but still good looking. It would be a hit among American and European buyers.

I think the Holden Coupe is a great overall design. It reminds me of BMWs and Audis I've seen over the years. I don't like sports coupes and sedans to look too curvy and sexy like Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Just a personal preference.

I think making a new car look too modern and too distinctive is a mistake. I think certain basic conventional designs have a timeless appeal. The designers could tweak these conventional designs to make new models, but not too much ... a balance between the old and the new. Moderation can be a good thing.

That's why I think cars like the new Malibu are doing pretty well. It's fairly conventional, yet still a little stylish. GM did a good job on the exterior. The interior is very nice too. Big improvement there. People may say they want a radical new design, but they probably still prefer to buy a somewhat conventional design. Most people don't like to stick out too much when they are driving around town.

If the Volt concept failed in the wind tunnel, this concept would fair the same or even worse. I'm with you, I'd like the Volt to look like a bad azz driving machine rather than an econo-bubble. Problem is, until we get better batteries, the wind tunnel gets to dictate the way a car looks more than the stylists do.:(

It sure seems GM heard you, and have made the Volt look more like the concept photo you provided.
