Lotus 1970s (James Bond) - De Lorean 1980s - APV mini vans 1993 - GM Hy-Wire from 2002 - Chevy Volt 2011

Who designed the exterior of this car? Was it asians or the U.S.? It looks a lot like the 8th Gen Honda Civic. Who designed the newer Honda Civics 2006-2009? I think Honda designs their cars in buildings in the U.S.. It's like the asians are always out to try and make a name for them selves collectively. I Like the Chevy Volts rear, top, and sides but maybe the hood(smooth or flat almost seamless with the windshield almost like the 1993 APV the GM-200 project) and front end could be reshaped a little. I still like the basic design all around though. The way the bumper seamlessly integrates with ever thing else around sort of reminds me of the Lotus' almost seamless front and front side fenders. I think wise use of primitive shapes (Squares Circles and Triangles) may help improve the design. The newer exterior Volt design is like an upgraded De Lorean design from the 1980s. :)

NOTE: The GM Hy- wire (called for Hydrogen and propulsion control by wire) and not Hi-wire

About 3minutes 11seconds into video you can see a similar design done by Chris Huang for GM and - I guess he is also Sculpting 27seconds near the beginning of video-

PININFARINA is an Italian company that designed (I think) the 1990s APV mini vans that looked like Star Trek shuttles with an angled roughly seamless windshield to hood design. I hated hearing the term "looks like a Dust Buster" when people described the shape. That was one of the best shaped mini van ever next to the Chevy Astro and GMC Safari mini vans.

GM-200 project, from which were born three MPVs: Chevrolet Lumina APV, Oldsmobile Silhouette and pontiac Transport.
