Since this is the #1 Volt forum outside the GM blog sites what we need is a GM insider as a member that can field questions posed here about details on the volt design. That person can also stop any misconception from going too far. This would be a place that could be more of an exchange between enthusiasts than we get from the GM PR sites. In my following of the Prius, GM Duramax Deisel, Dell Axium and Boeing 787 there was enough inside information made available that I felt I had a good understanding of the product before it was on the market. I think we are openminded enough that we will understand if some details of the design change as the volt is developed and tested. Who knows maybe we will even come up with a design saving recommendation. What about it GM?
ADMIN, can you contact GM about assigning or looking for a volunteer for this?

Lyle is basically what you are asking for. He seems to be the ultimate outside-insider. Also, there are several people on this forum who have posted and stated that they work in this or that department of GM. I don't think there should be an "official" poster for this forum. That creates the image of message manipulation.
