I wouldn't worry about any damage caused by the heat, I live in Las Vegas and its 106 degrees right now and can reach well over 110-112 degrees here, no heat problems at all with my Volt...

The Volt handles heat very well. Last summer during that heat wave we took a long trip 2870 miles through Virginia and West Virginia with most days 100+. No problems with engine or cooling systems. In all cases once the car was cooled on comfort we switched to ECO and actually had to raise the temp a bit since after a some time on the road it got to cool even at 102 degrees. Love this car.

PS: When charging in hot weather the cooling system will run to cool the battery and associated charging electronics.

How about some credit to the designers and engineers that made the most incredible EREV. Working on my second hotter than any other place on the planet summer without a single issue. As far as those of us in Arizona is concern 104F is a nice summer day.

I wouldn't worry about it....the VOLT was engineered to handle heat very well.....

We've been experiencing typical 103-105 degree temps here in North Texas this week. I recommend keeping the Volt plugged in whenever possible in these conditions, so the Thermal Management System can operate. GM Engineering made some really smart choices with this vehicle, and they seem to be holding up really well in extreme heat and extreme cold situations.
