My 240v (UK) charger has stoped working after just 1 months use.
There are no lights displayed on the front panel and I have checked the fuse in the 13A 3 pin plug is OK.
The unit itself visually looks fine and whilst it has been running I have checked the temperature of the unit and cable and although slightly warm had no sign of overheating.

It is goint to be replace under warrentee, but I was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem.

One thing I was wondering about is that the label on the device idicates that it has an RCD (Risidual Cutout Device) but there is no evidence of a reset button. Just one button to swith the amperage.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the plug. I don't know how much different the Euro 220V plug design is from the North American 120V plug. So I can give you my knowledge based on the 120V plug (and I have designed many products to work for both Europe and North America). In Europe a RCD is referred to as a GFI (ground fault interrupter) in North America. With the 120V plug the GFI is self resetting after 30 seconds. So if it's still dead after that then it's likely a defective unit.

Sorry to hear your charger is MIA. There have been a few problems but mostly in conjunction with the home wiring. I think Rusty went through several because of some issue with the outlets at his workplace. The 120v unit isn't heavy duty enough for 240v so it may be a different unit entirely. At the least the components would have had to be upgraded.

My 120V voltec unit failed after 800 miles (3 weeks). Car wouldn't take a charge from home, kept restarting, and would fail with the horn chirping within 10 mins of being plugged in. Also got a check engine with 2 codes. Used for prior three weeks without issue. Took into the dealership and they diagnosed the charger as faulty and replaced within a day. Unfortunately the 120V unit delivered with the car was the replacement model after the recall.

Happy its outside my work location charging as I type, all seems to be working with the new unit.

@ V0lt3R,

Sorry to hear you ran in to charging issues early on! But that is very good news that you are back to charging with your new unit so you can continue to enjoy your Volt!
