Lyle:

OK, you have set up a new forum, and it looks a bit different, but why didn't you transfer all of the old posts to this new site?

To start a brand new forum with no entries, when much of the real info has already been posted, seems kind of silly, don't you think?

Unless you intend to discontinue the old forum, why do this?

I am not trying to be negative, I am just trying to understand the thought process going on here....

I think this is just a beta for right now maybe next week he'll do the Migration of the old over. Which probably take some time. I think this is just to get some feedback

I have gotten requests from people for a more full-featured forum, and looking ahead into the days of production and beyond, we will need a very robust platform.

I hired a developer to migrate all of the old posts and users into this forum, but he has thus far been unsuccessful.

In any event, I plan to find a way to get the old posts here too, and gradually phase out the old forum, which for now will run alongside this one.

I like it so far. Not much traffic yet, tho. It would be cool if the people who are managing the various design aspects made appearances to discuss the ideas and why they would or wouldn't work.

I think one of the things that made the other method so sucessful is you don't have to be a member to use it. I rearly login. If guests can't get here I think the site would lose something. Anyway great site. I only know about electricty production and have learnt a lot about EV's since being here.

Now that this forum is now tagged as the "Main" forum, I guess that all the posts we made in the "Old" forum are going to disappear at some point.

That is too bad....

No Jim..I am transitioning to this forum.
I am still working (hard) on finding a software developer capable of moving the old posts here. As I have said before, I and many people value highly the older posts. You have my word they will never disappear and will one day become part of this forum.

EXCELLENT. Getting the old posts over here would be a real tipping point for me (but then again, I'm generally unbalanced):)
