Congrats- I have said this before, once you drive the volt, you really don't enjoy driving other cars and you don't miss stopping at gas stations. (only 3 gals. added in two months)

Nicely done.

Informative note ; dealers get $1500 from GM to sell their demos with the decal on the side. That money is meant to help pay for decal removal (whether they do it for you or not). So, if you want the decal removed professionally, they should do it for you for free.

Congrats!

I purchased a demo unit as well with the decal on the side. I'm getting mine removed at the dealership when my personalized plates come in. They're doing it for free (of course). I originally wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the decal or not so I asked them if there was any time limit on getting it removed. They said no. I could come in any time and they'd do it for free. So if you're not sure if you want it or not, just drive around with it for a while. You can always get it removed later.

Wow thanks guys....such a warm welcome!!

I LOVE the stickers it makes people ask questions that I LOVE to answer, I've already sold someone another volt and others are interested.

Anyway about this car, wow, as you said I will never ever want to drive another clanging banging gas guzzling car again. This has been such a long time coming, I am so happy to see it as a reality instead of an "idea" and to think that GM made it? Congrats, I drove AUDI and BMW and would have never ever thought or considered a Chevy, or a new car for that matter. This car goes deep when it pulls you, it allows you to stop and really think about how blind we all are to the hold that oil has over our entire lives, financially, environmentally, it's what I call the "crack" we are all addicted to and don't even really know we have an addiction.

To have a choice to buy an American product, made by american designers and workers, fueled by american made fuel is something that even a non flag waver such as myself find it hard to resist the pride this creates in ownership. It really can't be put in words for me.

Now I know why people went to the ends of the earth when the electric cars they had been driving got taken away from them in the past, essentially what it means is your taking someones sense of personal freedom, choice and pride from them, I'd do the exact same thing, I now understand why.

I could not have ever imagined the feeling of buying an electric car, spending 40k, and on an american car was un thinkable until I drove it, and it was real, tangibly, here today, not an empty promise. After leaving the dealership I had this sense of backward momentum of evolution getting in what I used to say was "the best car on the road, an Audi Quattro". Anyone could have made a world changing electric car, I am just so happy it happens to be GM that did it first. That is American, in Spirit, and in form. (No I do not have a flag in the front yard and never will) :)

Thank you GM, thank you.

Wow, that's 4 years talking! How often do people wait 4 years for anything? This forum is great and all, but you get driving! You can worry about your LED displays later!

I was having a conversation with a family member who I helped close another volt sale for and he's had his about the same time I have and we had been discussing the "awareness" aspects of this car and he said:

"Yeah, I dunno if any of their promo stuff touches on it, but in some ways the brain changing thing is the most amazing thing about the car. I mean it is a GIFT to humanity--if everyone had one of these they would AUTOMATICALLY begin to be aware of all this(conservation of power, and what your using really has a value)....all the while having the greatest thrill and enjoyment in driving they've ever had. Then if EVERYONE had one, places that are disgusting now, like LA and NYC, would be paradise.......

Wow, what a tool :)\|Car 2.0"

We are both TOTALLY enjoying our new cars.
