Local dealer is offering me 2012 Volt for $1,000 below invoice. Sticker is $45,170 and willing to sell it to me for $42,870. From what I've read on this forum this is a good deal. What do you guys think?

What state/locale? Sounds like some similar deals happening out in Southern California lately.

Georgia? in any case, that's a great deal. Looks like there are lots of deals right now because of the bad press, i wouldn't expect that to last so I would jump on it.

Yes, Georgia.

Yes it's quite good. Not likely to do better than this for a Volt with all the options.

Plus, he gets double tax credits (Fed + State). $30,370 after credits is great!

Really? I didn't think Georgia qualified for any state credits for the Volt. I know there are some for the Leaf, but I wasn't aware of any for the Volt.

Anyone who has received a credit from GA would be good to reply to this. Maybe it's just for BEV?

Sadly, the volt does not receive the state credit in Georgia. It has to be all electric. You will love the car!

MTN Ranger you had me all excited there for a minute. I thought when I researched it that it was only for BEV vehicles. I'm going to dealership tomorrow and I'll let you know what happens.

Well, I went to dealership and they didn't have the exact Volt I wanted so I went ahead and ordered one. Fully loaded Silver Ice with black leather and white ceramic inserts. They gave me an out the door price of $45,000 for everything (7% sales tax, adm fee, etc.). It stickered for $45,170, so I feel like I did pretty well. They offered me a little better deal on one they had on the lot, but it wasn't the color I wanted. I'll now join the ranks of all the folks who have waited anxiously to receive their car. Extremely excited to be a future Volt owner!

Congrets, I hope you will enjoy your new Volt as much as I do mine. I don't drive any other car that I own unless I have too.
