The Chevy Volt extended-range electric car is expected to hit showrooms in November 2010. The car will be rolled out in “waves” across the United States. Estimates indicate GM will produce around 2500 Volts in the 2010 calendar year and around 10,000 in the 2011 calendar year.
Demand will likely be high.
There are around 3000 Chevrolet dealerships across the United States. Not all of them will receive Volt allocations. To become a Chevy Volt dealer, the organization will have to commit to significant training to both sell and more importantly service these new technology cars.
