Zachary Taylor (Jackson): electronically-controlled, yet essentially hydraulic braking mechanism. My only safety question here would be, is there any redundancy or fall-back mode in the event of electric pump failure?

I am sure it is legally required to be able to stop if power assist fails.

Tom C: On GM cars with traction control they have a switch to turn them off just for that purpose.If you are on ice or in deep snow or at an intersection and have to goose it to get intotraffic you can shut off traction control to let the wheels spin and get you going.Tom C
