What are the chances that GM will use your waiting list? I'm in the 30,000 range.

Koz: I hope Tony Posawatz was just speaking to the audience in this article. I respect Mr. Posawatz’ contributions to the Volt and have enjoyed his comments about the project, but I think someone should send him the results of the poll Lyle conducted here a couple of posts ago. While the Volt is a “green” car and most people will factor that into their decision. Energy independence from oil and all of the associated benefits that come with this independence is BY FAR the number one reason to buy the Volt that people that come to this site voted for. IMO, it would only be higher in the general public.Yes, the Volt is a “green” but it is not only a green car. First and foremost in the consumer’s mindset it is an ENERGY INDEPENDENCE CAR!!! This is their biggest hook and they need to emphasize it big time. (Quote)

Fankly, it smacks a little of jingoism, fear mongering and xenophobia, so ya, it'd probably play well with some folks.

Well, then those folks are in for a pleasant surprise in the intrinsic performance and luxury department. No more penalty boxes and hery jerky slow off the line vehicles needed to be independent.

You think that intrinsic performance and luxury don't matter to mainstream Americans?

Folks are going to want to know if leather seats are an option on a 40k vehicle, including the Volt. It's ok, they're green, because that's one less cow damaging riparian areas.

/remove tongue in cheek

Rashiid Amul: That might help rid this site of trolls.

The trolls should be offered a Volt demo drive in 2010.

BTW: What's the minus score record? Something like -45?
