Late comment...

I simply will not take the risk of my wife being stuck in traffic at -20c and having a battery die on her.

It's a Volt or a diesel.

Of course there is Range Anxiety. Hell, this country has Anxiety over everthing that is why the Medication Industry is doing better than GM.

I believe GM is having Anxiety Pains more than the public. It probably is a feeling of not making MONEY the way they want which I wonder if the NEW GM ever will.

What I like about VOLTEC is the manner the Combustion Engine works when the battery's potential is low.

Hey, up in many areas of Canada plugging in at night is not a problem. We do that in the winter anyways its known as a block heater. As far as EREV or EV. Yes range anxiety is real and even more so in rural areas. EREV is more viable for north america because even if hydrogen cell or electric public stations become available many of the rural areas will not see those infrastructures. If the volt were sold by order from the factory through your local dealership, and available to all of north america based on orders and not set roll out areas or production numbers then this car may do extremely well.

Wow, a study that finds that range anxiety is real! Sounds like a job for my favorite super hero, from the "But Wait, There's More" (BWTM) page in Autoweek, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

My wife will not even discuss the idea of a BEV. Next case.
