Prius so far have no recalls, from 1999 to 2009 models. I don't know where you get your facts at but you should know that some of us works in DOT and we get to have access for all transportation problems (including recalls done by NHTSA or by the manufacture). The only common problem with Prius is their fuel bladder system but for the new 2010 Prius they don't use that bladder component anymore. Comparing this problem with GM's and Ford's complaint regarding truck fire or parking break failure that results in many death and home fire. Prius is a pretty reliable car.

To get the exact fact and data, go to NHTSA website and they have public info on all vehicles.

Hello Mr. Toyoda,

Is this the way you want to persuade americans to buy the products of your company - by insulting them?
I am Canadian by the way, are you going to insult Canadians as well?

Did anyone every ask the question...

If the Prius is so good... why is it still only 1% of Toyota sales after all this time?

I really can't talk about the pink tie anymore...it brings up too many happy memories of a time long past. (And much sadness when my offer to purchase said tie has gone unanswered, lol)

Someone on this post mention it was a big gamble for Toyota to build the Prius. Yes, I agree with that statement, but building the Volt is a much bigger gamble. Why? The Prius was well tested in Japan before it got shipped to the US. If anything was wrong with the Prius at that stage, it was corrected before shipping to the US. However, if GM has a problem with the Volt, the vultures media will come hard on them. We in the US are our own worst enemy. Some have compared GM with Hitler and the criticism goes on and on. Another example of unfair criticism is with the Hummer. Most people don't know the 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Wagon 4WD( gets worse gas mileage than the 2009 Hummer H3 4WD and yet I never hear any negatives about it.

                                                  City Highway Combined

2009 Hummer H3 4WD 14 18 16

2009 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD
                                                  13 18 15

Just comparing an apple for an apple. Do you get my drift?
