GM better get busy. Has anyone seen the Phoenix SUT ? It’s available NOW. Uses Li-Ion battery, 130 mile range, can fully charge in 10 minutes, 95mph and cost $48K. And it looks awesome. See it at the link below:

This is a very nice fully electric Sport Truck, made in Kalifornia, and on the road NOW.

Did I mention, that it is available NOW.

I do not want another car that uses a fuel that the oil barons can manufacture, monopolize, and enslave us with. My god people, do you not realize that if we develop electric vehicles, the electricity you put into the car could eventually be produced on your own roof. After the roof panels are paid for your fuel costs drop to zero. “Any fuel based car is utter folly if we move to solar and electric.”

The problem is that no self-respecting (greedy) investor (who’s only interest is money at any cost) is going to put money into a product that once sold gives no more return (I.E. EV’s and solar panels) when they can invest in, and promote an auto that requires a fuel (I.E. gas, hydrogen, ethanol,). A fuel that the car owner has no choice but to buy from them, increasing their profits significantly.

Go! GM and make that Volt. If you do, your short term returns will be small, but your long term returns, returns for the whole world would be uncountable.

Mr. Clarke is correct. THe Volt can be the 57' Chevy of our time. This car can be a leading element changing world politics, economy and ecology. We may be witnessing amoment in History not seen since the invention of the automobile or airplane. This is not just about marketing a car. This is about changing the world.

My occupation is in the environmental field, and even with that, my main motivating reason to buy an electrical car is to get away from the grip of foreign oil. It's hard for me to believe this was not one of his main barganing chips. People care about the environment, but more people care about not funding these middle eastern countries with our hard earned money.

Grizzly/Static,
I suspect a truce fire of the TOTALLY OFF TOPIC HIJACK would likely be welcomed by many. I keep coming back 30 comments later and the war of the wills continues, so I just leave
