I found a 3-D model of the Volt for $75, they look like they did a good job on it.

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-2008-chevy-volt-concept/368255
how cool!

My DieCast came in the mail in about 2 weeks. The one thing I never noticed before until the model came is that the sides of the car are very flat. I like the over all design style but the DieCast really helps to see the real shape.

Got my Volt in the mail about a week and a half ago. They took a hint from Chrysler with the overly plastic interior but the fit and finish looks pretty good overall. Mines got a set of pretty dependable run-flats but I'm fairly certain they'll never see the open road, considering the fact it's bolted to the base.

Now 3 years until I get a real one.

My Toy Volt arrived. Doors open and the wheels spin, that is about it. I guess I will have to change my moniker now that the A123 battery was delivered.

None of you are getting your toy Volts. GM never had any intention of selling them.

The toy Volt was just a ploy to distract you from GM's real goal ... making and selling toy Hummers. I have some secret video of all 750 toy Volt's crushed and standing in a pile. That piece of video will be included in the documentary I'm releasing later this year:

"Who Killed The Toy Volt?"

All American toys are unreliable anyway. If you want a good quality toy, you should buy a Toy-Yoda ...made in Japan.

Has anybody got their diecast Volt yet?

I asked when mine will ship and got no response.

Maybe they underestimated the popularity of the car or they had to push back the delivery date because of manfacturing problems ;)

Oh yeah, facts to back my claim!! Notice that aricle was last Feb.

And you wouldn't buy the toy if it was made in the U.S. because it would be too expensive. If that kind of rationale was commonplace, we should stop eating vegetables because illegal immigrants harvested them.

Your facts are way wrong. They are making $30.00 an hour in Kentucky. That's more like 60K a year....In Kentucky, one of the poorest states. They did Kentucky a favor by creating jobs there and not in Japan. Smart move for the town that let Toyota build a 1.3 billion dollar plant with tax incentives. Companies all over the country get deals like that. My company is tax exempt for 10 years because we built sidewalks, street lights, and curbs. We have created over 150 jobs in an area that had no jobs. Who wins? Everyone here....Who really cares anyway, if someone wants to work for 23K a year, let them.

Nice idea..
If the toy was made in the US I'd buy one.
..yes I would pay more to support a US job.

I'll wait for the real thing.

also..#34
Toyota is paying NO US taxes at the plants it opens in the US. I know someone who has relatives in the area of one plant... Toyota is paying no local taxes ..the jobs at the plant are paying just above the poverty line..(23K/yr is poverty .. Toyota is paying $12/hr that's 24K/yr). The local taxes are being raised to pay for the infrustructure they gave to Toyota for free. (Roads..sewage..power etc.)
It's estimated that GM pays $2,000 per car in US taxes.

GM is kept completely out of(#2auto market in the world) Japan.. and could you see GM building a plant in Japan..
then not paying any Japanese taxes!
