However, next time you drive in a car that has an Automatic Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) "airbags", or even electronic ignition (EI) system - remember that all these devices are microprocessor controlled using real-time operating systems. [Not to be confused with Windows, etc. :-)] "Drive by wire" is becoming a necessity as cars evolve towards plug-in hybrids ...
