Is GM thinking about what to do with the old batteries? After all they can create serious environmental hazard. Any thoughts about recycling program?

GM has some great technology competition.

Unfortunately, auto manufacuture is a DEEP pocket business so many of these technologies will be shelved.

Kevin R at 11,

I heard a Volt Ad months ago on the radio in Cincinnati on either 550 or 700 (I don't recall which), but I meant to write a post about that. Awesome, although I'd rather see a working prototype than hype.

This morning (Monday December 10th) at 5:45am on WSGW radio 790 here in Saginaw, Michigan an ad was broadcast for the Chevy Volt! I couldn't believe I was hearing an ad for the car. It mentioned the technology, the e-flex system and that they work working on the battery technology. The ad also mentioned that the car was on it's way!

With statements like that, traffic will increase here by about 10,000%!

OK, all you hardworking GM engineers and management reps, I fit your profile for this vehicle perfectly, and would be proud to test the Volt from the great state of Ohio!

(I figured a shameless plug could not hurt...)

Treehugger.com is reporting:

"General Motors will be providing 100 people with the Equinox Fuel Cell crossover"

The good part is:

"G.M. will be giving the Equinox to people that have been "<b>active in its online forums </b>for fuel-cell vehicles."

Be good, be active and maybe GM will give you a Volt prototype to drive in 2008/2009.

"Will the the horizontal bar on the T battery be beneath the rear seat or under the hood ?"

Towards the back - under or behind the rear seat - I forget which.

Love it! So any ideas what the notch in the middle is for? Or what the trapezoidal section is on the side closest to the screen? You know GM-volters love to obsess the details. Any ideas?
