Our efforts have been recognized. Today the New York Times has published an entire section (H) (LINK) devoted to the green car revolution. Amongst the articles is a piece by Ray Wert, senior editor of the quintessential car blog Jalopnik.com. The segment (on page 18) lists the top 10 green car websites notable for avoiding the hybrid hype and keeping the facts straight.
GM-Volt.com is listed 6th from the top.
A special thanks to Ray, our readers, and hats off to all the others on the list.
There are also several other interesting pieces in this section, so go out and get a copy. And to any new visitors arriving here after reading the Times today, a heartfelt warm welcome! Jump in and ride with us through the transportation revolution, and help make sure the Volt gets on the road.

Oct 24th, 2007 (8:14 am)Lyle,
Congratulations. You put a lot of hard work into this site. We here at gm-volt.com knew how awesome you are. Now everyone else does too. This site is fantastic.
The people here are great, helpful, and make this site a good one too.
Oct 24th, 2007 (8:28 am)Lyle,
Those links you posted are stuck together, there is actually only 3 links.
Thanks for running this site, you are doing an oustanding job.
Oct 24th, 2007 (9:00 am)Links fixed. Thanks.
Oct 24th, 2007 (9:10 am)Great job! I check this site a few times a week and I’m really excited about how we’ll fuel our cars in the future.
Oct 24th, 2007 (9:46 am)Lyle:
Congratulations on a great site !! There certainly are a great bunch of people on this avenue. It would be nice to have the first Volt rally with all of us that have participated on this car blog and have Volts.
Then we could all meet in person.
Oct 24th, 2007 (10:16 am)Congrats Lyle. Glad somebody is paying attention. Let’s go GM!
Oct 24th, 2007 (10:18 am)…forgot to ask. How many people are on the “waiting list?” How many of those would be realistic buyers?
Oct 24th, 2007 (10:23 am)Congratulations! Well deserved.
GM has a lot to learn from you about blogging and, what’s the phrase, “viral marketing”?.
Tom M., #5:
Sounds like fun.
Oct 24th, 2007 (10:26 am)I’m in for the rally! I’m located outside Chicago and could make it to DC.
Anyway, Lyle, great job and you certainly deserve the recognition. I check this site daily and greatly appreciate your efforts.

Oct 24th, 2007 (10:38 am)Congratulations Lyle! I’m glad to see the site get the recognition it deserves. Now we just need to get you one of those demo Volts from GM.
Keep up the good work!
Oct 24th, 2007 (10:44 am)At the risk of being repetitious…
Congratulations, Lyle. The recognition is well-deserved.
Oct 24th, 2007 (11:18 am)I appreciate the congrats but I also want to make it clear that is all of you guys who read and comment here that really gives this site it’s value.
I may present the news and the facts, but it is everyone’s unique perspective, knowledge, and insight that we all (including GM) learn from.
Oct 24th, 2007 (11:22 am)I’m glad that you’ve gotten the recognition that you deserve. I’m down for a rally when we get our Volts! I live in Texas, and most likely still will, but I’d definitely be down for trying out a distance-run with the range extender in, what, 2011? I’m all for it. I also think that this kind of kudos from the New York Times will help GM be reminded that we want these things. Awesome!
Oct 24th, 2007 (1:17 pm)I will buy the first production electric plug-in or plug-in hybrid available even if it costa more. Why does GM wait for batteries when they already exist? GM can improve the cars later while producing it now.
I get all of my household energy from PV panels and will plug in my car for zero energy pollution.
Oct 24th, 2007 (1:26 pm)I would certainly go to any rally. I will retire in 2010, and, with any luck get a Chevy Volt soon after. Yesterday my son was telling me about the glass roof on the concept car. I asked him how he knew that and he said one of his friends had seen it in Boys Life magazine; so the kids are starting to talk about it at school. I would love to be able to take my son to A Volt rally. Man, retirement and the the Volt! That is going to be a heck of a year!
Oct 24th, 2007 (4:46 pm)Great Job Lyle!
Oct 24th, 2007 (4:55 pm)Great job Lyle! I love the cooperative and friendly atmosphere of this site. It’s great that word is spreading. I just hope that this site doesn’t draw the attention of some trolls that have been attacking green auto sites.
Oct 24th, 2007 (5:00 pm)I’m surprised the NY Times can count to ten.
Oct 24th, 2007 (7:44 pm)Congratulations Lyle.
Oct 24th, 2007 (7:45 pm)Thanks Lyle! This is well deserved recognition.

Oct 26th, 2007 (10:53 pm)Lyle,
At work and everywhere, I get a chance I am talking about this site, you, and all of us who come here. How a doctor, a family man, a man with a passion for a better world, and a more environmental friendly car such as the Volt take his time to create such informative place where we all can come and get well-informed. Congratulations Lyle. And yes, # 5 and # 10, I am with you.

Nov 4th, 2007 (12:23 pm)Very interested in reading this site. Can’t wait to see EVs on roads. I’ve decided not to buy another gas car even though mine is 13 years old.
But better understand these cars before buying one. It seems to me the battery is a focus in all topics and 5 major players in the field (for now).
What about the electric motors. I’d assume motors as as important as engines in gas cars. Why I do not see who is good in making electric motors? Also how the power control systems work so that the milage is optimized?
Thanks.
