Lyle, This site is fantastic. You really doa nice job of keeping it updated. The people here writing their comments are excellent. I read this site a few times a day. In the end, like everyone else, I hope GM does this right and we can all be driving a Volt soon.

While the range is 40 miles per charge, how much is used when running the Air Conditioner/Heater, as well as running a stereo?

And what about cold environments like Manitoba during the winters? How does the battery perform?

Use the following URL for an article about a GM prototype that used a Stirling 38 years ago.

Great job Lyle. I was especially intrigued about your article on ultra capacators. I would like to know more about them. You seem to have GM's ear. Can you ask them if they have looked at stirling engine gen sets. Like ultra capacitors, they would seem to hold tremendous potential.

Great job Lyle, Thanks!

Yeah GM is listening and I am sure atleast a few of their engineers and executives read this site. I would imagine the executives are here to get a feeling for what the public thinks about the Volt. They release some new details about the Volt and then go to sites like this to guage public reaction to determine if any changes need to be made. I would imagine the engineers come here to read about how much we love their current project. Heck, sites like this surely help to keep their eye on the prize- finishing the Volt!

These guys know they're working on some world-changing technology and that the fruits of their labor will benefit civilization in so many ways (if you don't agree, please go here: www.thecaseforpluginhybrids.com).

We are witnessing a revolution that will change the world. Gasoline is on its way out as our main source of transportation-based energy. What a great time to be alive.
