I like the Volt overall, but a few things don’t sit too well with me:
The glass roof. Nice, but in hot climates, sunlight on the interior surfaces will heat up the interior VERY quickly. This would make the climate control work harder. It could be tinted, which definitely helps, but a solid roof would be nicer, IMHO.
The steering wheel and gauge cluster (I’ve seen in other picture sets) looks to… weird. I’d rather have a more traditional leather wrapped wheel, and an instrument cluster, possibly consisting of completely LCD displays (or OLED for lower power consumption). Gauge layouts and information displays could be customizable. I know a lot of us want to be able to see lots of information about the vehicle’s performance, and the gauge cluster in the concept doesn’t look like it will provide much info.
(as an aside, the pictures near the fountain/river are close to a restaurant I ate at when visiting a friend in DC a few months ago. Neat to recognize the area it was in!)

I really like the design. I just hope that any aesthetic impracticalities are corrected for. I live in San Antonio, TX and definitely agree about the issue of having a clear roof. My friend owns a Scion Tc which has that feature, but a retractable blind is usable to cover it to keep the car cool. I like that a lot. The wheels are killer, but I’d be totally fine with smaller, more efficient ones. And I’d prefer a conventional/traditional gauge cluster, like I have in my ‘05 Civic Hybrid. The slightly more unconventional two-tier gauge cluster in the ‘06 Civic Hybrid is cool in my opinion, but to be honest the more unconventional gauge cluster in the Prius kind of turns me off. But ultimately for me, as long as my Volt works as advertised and provides me all the drive data I need (level of charge, speed, forward/reverse/park, etc.) then I’ll be fine with it. I really like the idea of having a GM model with OnStar and XM. And the Volt is amazing!
