   Wow! That is really a beautiful car!

   I was wrong, wrong, wrong about this car. When you see it drive you realise its a small elegant sportscar as small as an Accord. I thought it was like one big oldfogie Cadillac, but I was reading the photograph incorrectly. This design is for treehuggers too!

   This EV will save the world. Make it in time.

   Very nice to see one in the flesh. They probably loaded the trunk with lead acid batteries just to get the thing to move on it’s own, but that’s fine with me for a demo or a prototype like that. It does look nice, and the size is smaller than it seems in most pictures.

   I hope to see (video of) one cruising the highway around the end of the year, or at least by summer next year.

   I think the prototype can only go 5mph. They really should NOT make any publicity videos of it moving until they can show it going at freeway speeds. Tesla had the right idea in making the roadster and showing it off going fast. There are a lot of stereotypes to bust about EVs being slow golf carts and the Volt prototype ain’t changing ‘em.

   ug is probably right. The prototype probably ‘golf carts’ on a small motor and a few lead acid batteries.

   I would hope to see a fully functional prototype later this year or early next year.

   Guys, this is the guy that wrote the blog that went with the video. Look, this wasn\’t planned, they were just off loading the Volt off the truck early in the morning and backing it into a parking space into what you can see is moderate oncoming traffic. I just happened to catch this little sequence with the video function of my treo. It was not a professional shoot for the car…so just take it for what it was…the volt on a public street probably for the first time and capturing tremendous attention. Yesterday (Friday)it was outside the Ronald Reagan federal building — heavy foot traffic and drew crowds all day, multiple media outlets from tv, radio and print came by and the volt provided the backdrop for a nice chevy dealer luncheon with the volt\’s lead designer, Bob Boniface as a special guest. Last night we had Bob and the Volt in Georgetown on the waterfront where I think we can say conservatively thousands of mobile phone pictures were taken and emailed by onlookers. The crowds languished until the early morning hours, asking questions and gobbling up the literature. I wish I could have recorded some of cell phone conversations I couldn\’t help but overhear from young 20-somethings calling their friends and telling them about the cool car from GM and Chevy that was on display and urging their friends to come down and take a look at it. GM had the Volt interior and exterior lighting on all night and in the soft lights of the Georgetown waterfront it was about as beautiful as you will ever see a vehicle look. Absolutely irresistable to the thousands that walked by. Tonight it will be at the Wolf Trap concert venue and outside the Washington Nationals game on Sunday afternoon. On Monday the volt will be displayed outside Union Station which almost sits in the shadow of Capitol Hill. If any of you are in DC, would love for you to come by see the Volt and say hello.

   Hey John. Nice job capturing the video. Just seeing the car moving on a road gives us all a thrill.

   We know there’s just a golf cart motor and lead acid batteries (and I wonder if the empty laundry detergent bucket still’s there). But it puts an image to a dream.

   Let us know if you post any further information, or get any pictures yourself. I think the reaction you’re seeing is an indication of the interest GM will get in the Volt. If they pull it off the way they want it to end up, it will be a HOMERUN!

    I hope this Buzz, demand and attention the Volt is getting convince GM that they need to get this car rolling off of production lines waaay sooner than they planned.
