		<description>R., correct me if I am wrong, but wasn&#039;t the Volt &#039;unveiled&#039; at the Detroit Auto Show in January of 2007? So he is talking about &#039;introducing&#039; the Volt in 2010 or 2011? I hope that means production, and I really hope that it just might happen a year early, because the market is starting to leave GM behind, and they are losing ground too much already to get left at the altar on the transition to EVs. Or does the &#039;industry window&#039; start substantially before a mockup gets shown in a car show? I hope that the latter is true, because I really want to see this car soon.</description>

If they got the two-mode system into the Impala they would sell a million of them (although police departments and taxi firms would have to start paying higher prices for fleet vehicles if they wanted hybrids).</description>

		<description>I am getting just a little more confident that GM is going to build these cars, I doubt they will sell the Volt concept car as it looks now, but they will probably sell some sort with the E-Flex tech which is critical. I haven&#039;t heard anything but rumors about the next generation Prius that was supposed to get 100mpg, so GM may have the time to get this car to market before the market shifts away from them permanently. 
I still think Ford is playing a fools game by failing to build a hybrid Crown Victoria, what city wouldn&#039;t buy cop cars that get twice the mileage and allow their cops to do their computer work non-stop and allow the elected officials to boast that they have cut their carbon footprint nearly in half! Their are a lot of police cars out there, burning a lot of gas and cash...</description>
