To Derick R. No Toyota will not leave GM in the dust with the Prius. The Prius is an UGLY; I said uuuuuuuGLY car. A good looking and good performing electric car can turn the corner for GM.

Once again GM is behind the curve. As most of us already know Toyota has a plug-in Prius. GM will be left in the dust as usual.

GM followed through with the EV1. Then they destroyed it.

Unfortunately, GM says that the Volt won’t look like the Volt concept vehicle. They said it was too aerodynamically inefficient.

I’m looking forward to owning one with the understanding that the fuel savings will probably never pay for the added cost.

As a previous EV owner ” TownCar” I stand behind this project.My EV was quite premitive, but very reliable and I never purchased gas for my commute to and from work each day.My office building had an electrical outlet right outside my office and I kept it plugged in all day for a full charge on my return trip home.I have spoken with my present office bldg. mgr. an outlet will be available to me. AGAIN, NO GAS!!!
I have no Idea what will happen to the tax revenues from a drastic reduction in gasoline,but I’m sure they will figure out away to get us. The government isn’t going to let us get by riding on their highways FREE !!
GM, Please bring this Volt on line ASAP.

It’s not only GM. Mitsubishi Motors, Tesla Motors, Miles Automotive and ZAP are all trying to get into the electric car or PHEV business — and probably Toyota too, though they are being very quiet about their plans.

Well, I’m a believer in the feasibility and viability of the GM Volt concept. It can be engineered soon, and it can be done for a reasonable price. The EV-1 never quite achieved that last point, but I’m considering the Volt a more mature and viable “EV-2″… I can also be patient as the demo fleet turns into a full 50 state vehicle.

GM has quite a bit to prove if their track record with the EV1 is anything to go by. I’ll believe it when I see it!

The Volt is a great idea. I would buy it in a minute if I had the opportunity.

I will be first in line with a checkbook. GM please, please follow through on this beautiful mochine. I currently drive an AM General baby H3 Hummer. I need to transition it to fishing trips only.
