On January 7th, General Motors introduced the Volt concept car to the world. This is the first vehicle of a new generations of hybrid car with promises for gas-free driving up to 40 miles, and fuel economies up to 150 mpg for longer drives.
Now that were coming close to peak oil and global warming is accelerating, the time has finally come for us to do something about it.
On this site we will keep you informed minute to minute on the developments with this vehicle up to a beyond the day of the first commercial purchase.
Please check back often, register, and join in the discussion!

May 25th, 2008 (9:47 pm)Wow, I just found the first post on GMvolt.com …. You’ve come a long way Lyle! 1.5 years later you’re still devoted. Thanks to you for all the hard work. Thanks to GM to sticking with it! Let’s hope 2010 brings a Volt to my driveway!
Jul 9th, 2008 (7:11 am)Amazing. Lyle, I don’t think I started posting for a few weeks from this time. You have been very dedicated to this cause. I truly hope you get a free Volt. No question you deserve one.

Jul 9th, 2008 (10:12 am)Woohoo, responding to post #1 on this forum.
Can’t believe we’ve already been talking about the Volt for 1 1/2 years already. Hopefully only 2 more years.
Wow
Jul 9th, 2008 (10:37 am)I am glad to see the first post. I did not check back in the archives for it because it was and is hard enough to keep up with all the Volt goings on each day. You are great Lyle. Thanks!!!!

Jun 26th, 2009 (9:25 am)The truly dedicated ones. The ones that care. The ones that are thankful for Lyle. Funny how we have all become friends without actually meeting.
Jun 26th, 2009 (10:13 am)ME!! Lyle, I am pleased and amazed that you have stuck with this so long.
Jun 26th, 2009 (10:15 am)It’s good to be able to read the first page of the story. It makes me wonder how long it took Lyle to get his first reply.
Jun 26th, 2009 (1:04 pm)Lyle,
Thank you and the other contributors to this site. I’ve enjoyed watching the steps to bring a car from concept to production. Even more exciting is getting to see all this for the game changer that is the VOLT! Keep up the good work and the best to you and the VOLT team.
Jun 26th, 2009 (1:21 pm)How are you Statik,Rashiid, and all of you ?
Great days for the Volt and for us.
Sorry my work takes more and more time so I cannot comment a lot.
Regards JC NPNS
Jun 26th, 2009 (3:08 pm)I can’t speak for the others, but I’m doing fair enough.
I always keep a eye out for your comments…I do miss not having as many opportunities to banter/discuss the ‘world at large’ with you, but working certainly takes priority over dalliances on the ‘interwebs’…so you continue to have your head on straight.
Aside: Looking like Magna is getting some cold feet/concerns over ownership and future tech of Opel with GM in your neck of the woods…you can’t be liking the renewed BAIC talk.
Jun 26th, 2009 (5:09 pm)Having fun doing it too.
Jun 26th, 2009 (5:34 pm)Thanks Lyle for a great website that gives us the opportunity to vote for VOLT by registering on the “Want List.” Keep up the great effort and GO GM.
Jun 27th, 2009 (5:22 am)Yes, i admit it, i was dragged kicking and screaming to view the first post too (from the link provided in the post date 26/6/09).
I’m not sure i could live with myself as a devoted follower of this site for well over a year now, and not say “thank you Lyle”; for believing in the volt, holding GM accountable to make sure it is produced, and bringing us all such regular updates for the past 2 and a half years. I have no idea how you can both work in medicine and be what seem like a full time reporter.

Jun 27th, 2009 (9:19 am)Hi Jean-Charles
I’m always sunshine and lollipos thanks. I hope you and yours are well.
Lyle sure was able to see way down the road with his quest. Such a neat lesson that one man CAN make a big difference.
Be well,
Tagamet

Jul 1st, 2009 (4:08 pm)Thank you Lyle! I think I’m in the low triple digits for the waiting list, and I’ve been following this site from Jan 2007, you’ve been performing a great service and it is much appreciated.
